We both had an awful night’s sleep!
Shennae has cricked her neck…and just could not get comfortable.
Whilst I had a sever bout of the shits. About 1.30 in the morning. Eye of a needle! By the time I had finished…I think I was ready for my next colonoscopy! Clean as a whistle! And indeed…that was that! No repeat (nothing left!)….& no after effects at all! So on with the ride!! (…and the good news was that my rear tyre was still full of air!)
Another lovely day of riding today….starting with breakfast at the lovely town of San Vincent de la Barquera…..
……..and then continuing through a series of sea-side villages. I say lovely riding…but it is very hilly….and after just seven days of riding we have climbed around 10,000 metres! But hey…..for every km of uphill…you get to enjoy one kilometre of downhill…!
We skirted around Santander…before ending up at Somo…on the opposite side of Santander’s estuary. A fairly awful place really…the sort of place which looks like it would be doubtless dead as a doornail outside the season!
A nice beach though…if you can avoid the surfers!! (Somo is one of Spain’s surfing hot spots….!)
A large apartment for the night….on the ground floor too. Perfect!
