49. Athens to Agistri

14 June 2022

A very lazy start to the day (nothing to do with Liz having arrived!!)…as were not catching the ferry until 11.30…for a week of R&R on the small island of Agistri…before starting the return journey!

Liz jumped in a taxi…and Iain and I battled with the Athens traffic for the short but chaotic ride down to Piraeus.

But we all made it in time for the 90 minute cruise to the Saronic Islands…first Aegina, then Agistri. These are to the West of Athens…and chosen for the short hop on to the next stage of the trip around the Peloponnese peninsular.

And before I sign off for the week…here are a few photos of the hardship we are having to put up with!! (Even got Liz on the bike for a while….until she fell off!! A few scratches…but all ok!).

Back on 22 June….with a new partner in cycling (not Liz!!)

This is my second attempt at mail to you all, therefore briefer, so glad you are all together and I am very very envious of your fantastic trip and, Neil, your blogs are fantastic.
Liz, great that you have arrived, thank you for your message, but DO NOT RIDE BiKE WITHOUT HELMET. I am saving newspaper cuttings for you and wonder where to post to?
COVID crippling NZ and many rest homes including us have closed hospital wings, staff shortages, patients being distributed elsewhere. It has now found its way into several apartments here and some villas on Konini side.
Do hope this gets to you all, hi to IAin, keep a good eyeon them for me and have fun, above all.
