Delightfully slow day today.

There is little to do…except….eat, drink…and

The water is simply divine!!

But I did catch up on Bookings for the balance trip to Athens. Public holiday on Monday….so a number of places are full! So we are going to ferry across to the island of Evia…on the advice of our host here. That was the scene of the devastating fires last year…but apparently it is a beautiful trip…and it will be interesting to view the aftermath.

Slightly odd road sign to find in the sleepiest of places……

The host here is just lovely…(& a teacher…so bonding with Iain!)…and she was filling us in on the fire (here was covered in ash…& the ferry was only bringing people one way…with fire crews and ambulances only allowed on the outward ferries)…. And telling the story of Greece during Covid. Hers was another sad story…of her Dad dying and her not being allowed to be there to support her Mum. Everyone locked in their houses with too many unintended consequences for physical & mental health. The same the whole world over really! Here’s hoping we have learned a bit.

Oh….and the cricket is on!!

Hard old life!!

……oh…and I wanted to say…that I love the comments!! It shows that at least four folk are keeping up with the journey!! And Chris…yes…it is strange how Albanians are depicted! Maybe it is a hangover from the closed country days of 30+ years ago…with all the corrupt individuals from that time living outside the country! But really…they are the most delightful people…so very different from the serb/slav arrogance of nearby countries, who probably do deserve to be called out. Funny how the mafia in Italy is all but institutionalised…yet we do not put all Italians into the one box!! …be we sort of have with Albanians…!
