A relatively short…and relatively easy…day today…relative to our adventures of yesterday.
As soon as we left town….we were straight back into impressive scenery…

…..and then……roadworks!

A full 30km of half-formed road! It is going to be a beauty to drive when they have finished! But for now…it was bumpy and dusty!!
Almost all the roads we have biked on in Montenegro have either been newish…or under full reconstruction. In a year or two…the quality of roading here will rival anywhere! And certainly thrash NZ/UK etc!

As we climbed into the hills…it was largely pastoral scenes today:

Not the drama of prior days…just a very pleasant day’s riding.

Ending with a wonderfully fast descent (on another new road!) into our overnight stop of Pljevlja. Indeed…we continued free-wheeling all the way to our accommodation…into the gate…and into the garage!
Most places are still closed (Eidh holiday)….so we ended up dining at a ‘restaurant in the park’. Interesting to watch all the local families…just as they were watching us! I do not imagine they see many tourists here! The food however was a bit disappointing…for we have been truly spoiled with wonderful dinners these last three nights.

Bizarre end to the day as well. Just as I was crawling into bed (room in a guest house), there was loud angry knocking on my door. Wtf? And I opened the door to find two women…one of whom immediately started raging at me…as she then showed me a wallet! Andrew’s face peering at me from his driving licence!!
????
So we knocked up Andrew as well…and she gave him another earful! Haha! Probably a little more deserved this time…. I wonder what she was saying…probably along the lines of that classic line in Life of Brian….”He’s a very naughty boy”.
A few questions though: Where had they found the wallet? How did they know where the wallet’s owner was staying (they even – almost – got the room right!)? How did they get in to a locked guest house?
All questions remain unanswered……
Naughty or not, Andrew was certainly a very lucky boy!

Who’s a lucky boy then ! – too much vino ?
