I woke at seven.
It was still raining. Thunder and lightening…albeit some distance away!
When we went to bed last night…we had asked our host if the rain was going to stop. Maybe at 8.00am he said. The forecast was not very encouraging!
But true enough…at 8 it stopped. And whilst the clouds did not clear exactly….there was a brightening…and we were optimistic that we might just get away with another deluge…without getting wet on the bikes!
And so it was to be!
First though…’breakfast’. Certainly the cheapest place we have stayed on this leg of the trip…and the first to include breakfast!! Funny that! We had declined breakfast last night as our stomachs were just too full. Thankfully however..the breakfast was no stomach-stretcher so we managed to indulge!!
As we climb into the hills…good places to stay are fewer and farther between….and with unpredictable ascents…we have opted for shorter days. And today was exceptionally short!!
A pleasant ride…albeit under brooding clouds…
Nae made a friend en route!
…and before long we had already arrived at our overnight stop of Jaca. And a longish coffee stop en route meant that our rooms were ready to move in to! Before 2pm…when usually check-in is from 4pm!!
My bike is a sight to behold! And not really ready to roll into a three star hotel!! But as long as you do not touch the mud…it stays put!! No bike storage…so I had to hoist the muddy machine up the stairs!!
So a lazy siesta afternoon…and a quick wander around the town.
Interesting shop this…not the hams so much…as huge paint tins full of crisps!!
