Short on distance but big on adventure today, as we spent almost the whole trip on off-road tracks….half of which were indeed quite tricky!
Lots of solid stratified rock, loose stones, narrow benches alongside deep trenches…so it was challenging for both of us!
The weight on the back certainly makes it tricker! Cannot stop to take photos on the difficult bits…so the photos do not really do the day justice!
But neither of us fell off…so that was bonus!
We found a castle…in the middle of nowhere…
…overall, a great ride!
The original plan was to head North from Monsazar…but we wanted to see a bullfight! So this involves a big detour to the West to find one!! (Our route through Portugal is getting a lot longer as a result!! John did ask for it!)…and with the event on Monday – today is Saturday – we thought we’d take an easy day today…and stop in the city of Evora.
That is it in the distance!
Lovely small city….
…..complete with Roman ruin..
….squares big and small…
…and a network of tiny streets in the old town.
Good feel to the place….and the reported population is only around 56,000 (2xBlenheim!! Haha)…difficult to believe really!
Something tells me you’ve forgotten that you’ve been to Evora before! 😝
