A long four night stop here….so plenty of time to do all those things one needs to do!!
First some more photos:
And this is the view from our roof terrace…
..looking up at a 1350m high mountain…the perfect testing ground for our new battery!! We had been worried when we arrived from Marbella…for the ‘new’ battery had dropped almost all of its power in just 30kms! Really? So we needed to test it against the old one to make sure we had not made a mistake!! A classic ride: up and down!!
And the new battery managed it with no issue. (Our thinking here is that the new battery had been sitting around for months in the shop…and whilst it showed full charge…it needed emptying and recharging to kick it back into gear properly)
Day two…..and the old battery failed to get up he hill! So at least we were not wrong!!
Also on day two:
My big toe nail finally came loose!! An old rock-hits-big-toe-nail incident from a full six months ago. But the blackened nail was still uncomfortably attached down one side. So I found a podiatrist! Never been to one before! And without asking…he started by clipping the nails of the wrong foot…! And then proceeded to do a full pedicure! All nails cut and polished. Toe nail removed. Heels and calouses scalpeled and sanded. My feet have never experienced anything like it! All for the princely sum of 32 euros! What a treat!
And today is Corey’s birthday!! So he and Iain went and celebrated on the golf course…..whilst I blogged, read and slept….they stopped counting scores after losing their tenth ball!! Tricky course…but they found enough spares to complete the round: final score – Corey two pars, Iain one!!
Then birthday beers & tapas….and Real Madrid in the European Cup semi final! The locals went nuts as Madrid went from one down to 2:1 up in the last five minutes! Corey and I joined in. Iain did not. The wrong team won!
Corey and Iain then left to hit the town properly…!!
Day Three…and a bit of forward planning for Morocco…washing…and otherwise more of the same…before celebrating Corey’s (& our) last night in Spain at a classic Spanish bar…called Fergusons: Guinness, Fish and Chips, pool….and all! So very typical of these parts!!!
The old town is so lovely here…just behind the beech front
But really? I will not miss the Spanish costas very much!!
