For all its failings\u2026the ferry did arrive on time!\u00a0Strava however went to sleep for most of the journey, which lasted a full 8 hours longer!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complicated exit from the port and the city\u2026followed by a fairly miserable 30km of dead straight (classic Roman) road\u2026with a short break here (weird place)\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026..on to San Vito dei Normanni\u2026.where we stopped for breakfast\/early lunch. Joined by a classic group of Sunday cyclists, all lycra\u2019ed up\u2026.and straight into heaps of beers!! My sort of cyclists!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And a cavalcade of hundreds of Scooters\u2026..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nice up and down ride through to  Cisternino \u2026and on this stretch we came across our first Trulli houses\/sheds etc. Extraordinary buildings\u2026.straight out of a fairly tale really. Not quite hobbit territory\u2026but not far from the mind!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Small ones\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Big ones\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Romantic ruins\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cisternino also interesting\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026..but by then we were knackered after too little sleep, so pushed on the <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alberobello. Trulli-central. Truly spectacular!!\u2026.even if it did feel a bit too much like a pastiche of itself\u2026with so many tourists. Amazing to see all the same!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when in Trulli country it would have been rude not to\u2026to stay in our very own Trullo. (Note the singular spelling\u2026like Panino\/Panini). So very cool (literally too!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
