We are here in Lagia for two nights\u2026to give us a chance to explore this wonderful area a bit more!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It truly is one of the most spectacular\u2026and empty\u2026parts of Europe. Folk fly off to the Greek Islands\u2026..but this area leaves them for dead! (..just don\u2019t tell anyone!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A rest day today\u2026\u2026so we took it nice and easy! A late start (washing machine in the basement!)\u2026\u2026.and more brilliant scenery\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u2026.as we dropped down to our first stop at Porto Kagio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A \u201cvillage which time forgot\u201d\u2026was the very mistaken description of Gumusluk in Turkey. Here, however\u2026very apposite. For it truly felt like Greece of 50\u00a0years\u00a0ago. Simple, beautiful and completely unspoilt.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No road\u2026no promenade\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026.and a real risk of getting wet feet as you ate!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

From there\u2026we headed down to the most Southern point of continental Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Altogether gorgeous\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u2026and we found ourselves a lovely swimming place (just round the corner from the entrance to Hades..apparently\u2026not a bad way to go!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Nae with a beach to herself (I  was swimming off the rocks)\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Vithia\u2026one of the larger Mani villages is all but deserted\u2026but the refurb has started! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I tried to cycle around\u2026but it got a bit difficult! Nae sensibly walked!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We carried on to Gerolimenas\u2026for a late lunch! Another gem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Look at that water!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u2026which I of course could not resist for my third swim of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then back up the hill\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u2026.to Lagia, and our local tavern!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u2026another great day!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
